♥ Penang Trip 2009
*8 Dec 2009 to 10 Dec 2009* (Warning: Long entry of Holiday Trip)
I went on a short getaway (3D2N) with my 2 friends-SL and JY.
We had a great time, going on a free and easy exploration of the island. And luckily the weather for the three days turned out sunny, instead of the thunderstorm forecast. (the website is not reliable.)
The first day--we took the first flight out, so that means we were at the airport around 5plus am in the morning. Yawn~
We reached Penang around 8plus in the morning, and checked in at the hotel around 9plus 10am.
We walked some distance, and had lunch at one of the coffee shops. There isn't much traffic lights around for pedestrains, so crossing the road was rather challenging. That's why we kept to one side of the road. On the way, we chanced upon a Sun Yat Sen Memorial Museum that is set up by private organisation. This was the first stop of the day.
After which, we went about exploring the highest peak....Penang Hill.
Thereafter, we went for a night tour. We had a sumptous meal at the Gurney Drive. We also went exploring the Gurney Plaza.
Side story=> a small accident happened, and I spilled the sugar cane drink over myself...hahah..roar...luckily the day was ending....
Photo time (quite a large no. of photos):
Second Day, we started the day with delicious buffet breakfast. Then, we went on a Day tour to various places---Lek Kok Si temple, Snake Temple, Baba and Nonya Place (where most scenes of the Little Nonya took place at), The Batik Place, The Coffee and Chocolate Boutique and one of the Shops selling local products.
SL and I had an exciting experience especially at The Snake Temple. Why? haha..we took pictures with the snakes. One snake was not enough, the person decided to put another small one on us...we let out a small shriek at that, and our smiles went tense....haha...
But I would never regret that. It's an experience that I will always remember.
We spent our evening at the Queensbay Shopping Centre--had our dinner (The Chicken Rice Store) and shopping.
Photo time:
Third Day--we only had half day left as we were going back on the evening plane. Quite lucky of us to meet this cab driver who brought us to a few attractions--Toy Museum, Butterfly Farm, quick view of the Batu Ferrigini beach, and lunch at New World Food centre.
All in all, I must thank my two dears for their company. The whole trip had been really enjoyable.
Photo time:
* my camera went dead at the butterfly farm so pics were limited. Only find my spare batteries at the Airport where we were munching away. :)
