♥ Outing to the Mint Museum

Yeah. Thought i should blog on something interesting. Well, this is the fourth week of my attachment. Last week, on wednesday, all of us went down to support the Track and Field team.
The boys and girls had great performances, taking the Championship for the A' Divison Boys and A' Divison Girls, and we also had a best athelete coming from the girls. Mind you (she can really run. African girl, not sure where in particular she's from). So as a reward, the team gets to go out for lunch (a treat from the school). hah....
So today, we went to the Mint Museum at Seah Street. Had a buffet lunch, not too bad, just that the seats are quite limited, not enough to accomodate everyone at the same time. So we take turns to eat. Anyway, the best part is we get to view the exhibits of the toys! Wow, and for free lor..haha.....

There are like 4 storeys to visit and you can see toys from different eras. Some of them are too old for me to identify.hah...shall let the pics do the talking....

The Mint Museum

There's this particular display of tiles in the cafe. Its lovely!

The Space Robot Patrol (think its in the 70s?)

There's always a section where it will talk about the exhibits. Didnt have much time to read, and the place was too crowded, there was another school who brought their kids for excursion.

The Flintstones! The first batch of softtoys. wow!

Tom and Jerry if you remember. They arent such good friends. i remember the cat can't talk in the show, and was trying to eat the mouse all the time.haha...

TinTin! Yeah i remember borrowing the hard copy TinTin books to read during Primary school.haha...

Popeye the Sailor man! Choo choo! There's his spinach!

One of the first few Batman and Robin toys. Wah look how "fat" they are..haha..Notice Robin here is not wearing his mask, revealing his identity.

The Avengers...not much idea of who they are though..haha....

Astro boy! or the Boy of Atom is it? Anyway the girl in the show is never his girlfriend, she's his sister, Uran.

Felix the Cat!

Mickey Mouse..well the very inital soft-toys of Mickey are quite ugly, as compared to the ones we see being sold. Didnt take their pics though..haha...

The Nigger Dolls...something to do with the blacks...notice there's the Darkie toothpaste..haa...

Betty Boop...always singing and dancing...

Here's one of the early dolls...its Barbie and Ken...

The Beatles!

The matchbox pocket money toys. so small to be able to put into matchboxes for keeping..

Charlie Chapin!

yup its at Seah Street, behind the Bugis Shopping Centre. Not too sure of the price, as the school paid for all of us.
I just checked- its $10 for adults, and $24 for family package (2adults and 2kids) or $28 for (3adults and 1kid)
    check out the address: http://www.emint.com/
