♥ The Early Christmas 20th Dec 2006
20th Dec is a memorable day……
This is the day where we carried out our final product of Group Endeavours Learning Service (GESL). We had planned for such a long time—the great X’mas day for the kids.
We started the day by going to the home to first interact with the children. We had some time to warm up and get to know each other. We played ice-breaking games like wacko. Haha… one cheeky kid insisted on calling me “Jelly” haha…dots….;p
Then we set off happily to the Mac Party arranged at Queensway. I could see the kids were quite excited about the outing…
At the mac, they had lunch and games. (they are really hyper..hoho) However, I did not have the chance to see them at their games as me and my group mates were involved in the activity at Singapore Botanic Gardens in the later part of the day.
We reached SBG around 2 plus and set out doing the necessary preparations…there were all in all 5 stations..me and my partner were at the Ginger Garden station near the man-made waterfall. We were supposed to do up the minesweeper game. It was tough and eventually we resorted to using the pebbles available on the sidewalks to line the squares. Tiring and dirty job..but worthwhile as I heard from one of the facilitators that the group of children she was in charge of enjoyed this game best…haha..
Anyway, we ended the games at SBG at around 6 and there was more awaiting the children back at the home. There was sing along sessions, dinner (buffet), fantastic Magic show and prize giving..
What was more interesting is that our tutor actually dressed up as Santa..hohohoh..he’s quite thin, so he decided to carry his small bag and stuff newspapers to look more convincing..haha..the younger kids were amused…haha…
All in all, I can say that everyone of us had a great time..tiring but fun…it was really enjoyable..yeah…Mission accomplished…(cos the kids had a chance to celebrate Christmas) ;p
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my frens!!
